PSB Pepper Spray Training Tx at Elite Tactical Security Training or any other security training is an important part of self-defense training. This training certifies the student to carry Pepper Spray while on duty. The student learns about safe and effective use, the different levels of contamination, and how to properly decontaminate after exposure to the weapon. Students are not required to receive level one contamination to be certified. Students receive a certification card upon successful completion of this course.

To attend the PSP Pepper Spray Training, the student must be 18 or older and meet one of the following:

• Have a valid Commissioned License
• Have completed the Level 3 Class (certificate must be less than 1 year old)
• Be currently enrolled in “Elite Tactical Security Training” Level 3 Course

Delivery Methods of Pepper Spray 

There are 5 methods of delivering pepper spray:

Foam Method

The pepper spray is in the form of foam, looks like shaving cream, and covers the entire face of the attacker, and its range is around 8 to 10ft.

Gel Method

The gel form is similar to the foam method, but its consistency is glue-like and sticky. It can cover the entire face of the attacker.

Stream Method

The stream method is the most popular method, allowing you to keep a significant distance between your attacker and yourself. It is similar to a garden hose, as a good amount of pepper spray is sprayed quickly through a small opening.

Cone mist method

The cone mist form of pepper spray is similar to a hair spray can as the pepper spray is dispensed in a wide circular range.

Fogger Method

It is similar to the stream method, creating a spray pattern. But, the spray pattern in a fogger is made up of finer droplets and can remain in the air longer.

ASP/Baton

Conductive Energy Weapon or Taser

The student is introduced to the basic operations of handguns and their effective uses. They learn to demonstrate basic operational and safety skills and study general information related to confident and proficient gun ownership.

Use of Force Continuum

The Use of Force Continuum teaches students how much force to use in a given self-defense situation in compliance with the rules and regulations of the State of Texas.

The officers learn about different force continuums, including verbalization, empty hand control, less lethal methods, lethal methods, and their effective use according to the situation.
